Binoculars, the symphony, garlic fingers

How we feel at work is connected to how we refuel outside of work

How do you refuel?

In the evenings, on my days off, on the weekends, when I'm fully present and not worried about work I love to:

  • Go for a walk (or drive, let's be honest, it's February in Wisconsin), with my binoculars to spot birds.

  • Cook new recipes (just tried these Chicken Thighs with Spiced Couscous and Carrots - called for EIGHT cloves of garlic).

  • Say yes to new experiences, like going to hear Vivaldi's The Four Seasons with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in January.

To be better or have a greater impact at work we've got to think BEYOND just being better at work.

We've got to commit to fueling and refueling our whole selves. Our sleep, nutrition, joy, energy, faith, and beliefs directly impact how we show up.

The problem is that so often, we let work get in the way of all of these refueling opportunities.

  • You have a project to finish so you either spend all of family dinner caught up in your own mental world thinking about it, or you skip dinner altogether.

  • You took time off but you know your team's still working so you monitor email throughout the day, interrupting your plans of rest or adventure.

  • You feel the need to be productive on your commute so you listen to work-related books or podcasts instead of the book that or comedy might make you laugh.

You deserve more fuel in your life.

What do you love to do when you're not at work - and not even worried about it, so you can be fully present? If you're hungry for more rest, adventure, quality time but aren't able to be PRESENT for it, even when you get it, I've got your back. I'd love to be your partner and support you in clarifying what matters most and creating shifts in your work and life so you can stay focused on exactly that.
